Difference between renova, retin a, retin a micro?

Asked by Brad

what is the difference between renova, retin a, and retin a micro? and can i use a moisturizer with these products?

Brad answered

Renova, Retin-A, and Retin-A Micro all contain the chemical tretinoin, in different vehicles.

Renova already has a moisturizer built into it and is usually used for wrinkles, for people in their 40s or 50s who have drier skin. (The other two can be used in conjunction with a moisturizer.)

Retin-A and Retin-A Micro are used for acne with the latter allegedly being less irritating (because of microencapsulation of the tretinoin molecule) than the original Retin-A.
