Ask Dr. Schultz

How can I treat menopausal breakouts?

Asked by Sharisse

I am 52 years of age and have had two bumps on my forehead for over a year. I have tried numerous products on the market but nothing has worked. I don’t eat sweets or drink soda. I do drink plenty of water and eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, but I am menopausal. Can you help me, please?

Blackheads that have been present for “over a year” need to be physically removed, which any dermatologist can do. When they are present that long, unfortunately, they are very resistant to topical medicines.
