Ask Dr. Schultz

Is there a difference between adult and children’s sunscreen?

Asked by Neesy 1.86K Rep.

What’s the difference between adult and kid’s sunscreen? Can an adult actually wear kid’s sunscreen and it be enough? Thank you.

There’s is no difference in the level of sun protection afforded by adult or kid’s sunscreen..it’s strictly a matter of what the rating on the label says (SPF number and presence of UVA or broad-spectrum protection). So kids can use your sunscreen and you can use theirs. Be safe in the sun.
