Ask Dr. Schultz

Too early to use glycolic creams?

Asked by Brenda

Hi, I am 27 yr old Asian with no signs of wrinkles or skin damage. I use sunscreen every day but I am wondering if glycolic creams are recommended for my skin at this age? Also, what percentage of active Vit C should I be using at night?

Even in your 20’s, using glycolics is a very good idea to exfoliate dead cells that can dull and clog the skin. In addition, it will help delay changes in your skin that normally occur in your 30’s.

Active Vitamin C should be at least 10%.
