Peel Bar Treatment Effects on Skin
Hello Dr Schultz,
I will be having a progressive peel done at your Peel Bar in New York. Since the percentage of glycolic acid is much stronger than what I have been using in my 15% at-home treatment, will there be any redness or breakout to my skin after having this intense treatment? I have been using your progressive peel treatment for almost a year so my skin is used to the 15% glycolic acid cream used every other day.
Thank you and enjoy your day.
Hi Marilyn. I’m glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed the results you’re receiving from The Progressive Peel and are planning to visit a Peel Bar. In fact, monthly visits to The Peel Bar combined with nightly use of The Progressive Peel is the exact same regimen my patients follow; You’re on a great path to achieving the skin you want. In terms of effects, just like the BeautyRx at-home exfoliants, there will be no redness, downtime, or even visible peeling from a Peel Bar treatment. Instead, you’ll notice that your skin looks even brighter, smoother, and more even-toned. However, we don’t recommend using The Progressive Peel — or any other exfoliants — the same day that you visit The Peel Bar. Enjoy your new glow.
