What anti-aging products can I use for skin that is oily and dehydrated?
I’m 57 and my skin is a mess. Sagging loss of elasticity, brown spots, and severe blackheads on nose and chin. My cheeks are alright. I was told I also had dehydrated skin. How can that be if I have blackheads and oily t-zone? What products should I be using for all these problems?
Since your water glands make water, and your oil glands make oil, and there are different amounts of them in different areas of your face, you can have too little water causing dehydrated (a.k.a dry) skin in some areas and at the same time oily skin with blackheads in the t-zone. Under those circumstances, in the t-zone, one would use an acne cleanser with an alcohol-free toner and for the dry cheeks or anywhere else the skin is dry a water based moisturizer. The blackheads on the nose and chin are treated with topical exfoliants like glycolic acid and salicylic acid. Brown spots are best treated with exfoliants and topical bleaches. Loss of elasticity is usually not treatable without surgery. Considering the number and natures of your issues, you could benefit from a visit to a dermatologist.
