Ask Dr. Schultz
Are facials enough to eliminate blackheads and prevent future acne breakouts?
Once someone told me (ok, it wasn’t a doctor) that if I do facial cleaning with an beautician, every month, my blackheads would disappear after a while. And then, I would do the facial only every 3 or 6 months. What do you think about that? Is it possible to exterminate the blackheads that way? Or any way? Or will they come back no matter what I do on my skin?
While facials are a good way to unclog pores and treat blackheads, in addition it is important to use an exfoliating product that can dissolved blackheads and stop them from forming in the first place, such as glycolic products or even retinoids. The facials alone may not stop the blackheads from coming.
