Ask Dr. Schultz

Is it ok to use a base over sunscreen?

Asked by Anke

Good day to you, I would like to know, I use physical sunblock SPF 30 (zinc and titanium), I use my moisturiser first, and allow this to dry, and then apply the sunscreen. (I was told that one can do this as physical sunblock does not need to be absorbed into the skin) I then apply base over this, as my skin is really white. Does applying the base over the sunscreen disturb the sunscreen effect? Thank you, I am just really struggling to find an answer to this and I appreciate your time. Have a great day x

Applying the base over the sunscreen does not diminish the effectiveness of the sunscreen and may actually increase it! Great question.
